Terms of Use
Article 1 (Purpose)
These terms set out the conditions for using the online PDF editing features that Openbrain Inc. (the “operator”) provides as PdfMonster (the “Service”), and the rights and obligations of the operator and users.
Article 2 (The Service)
The Service provides, free of charge, tools in your browser for editing text in PDF files, adding annotations, redacting content and managing pages. All processing happens on your device; the Service does not upload or store your PDF files.
Article 3 (Conditions of use)
- You can use the Service without creating an account.
- You may use the Service only with files that you have the right to edit.
- The Service is built for current versions of mainstream browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari). Some features may not work in older browsers.
Article 4 (Prohibited conduct)
You must not:
- forge or alter someone else's document for fraud, false certification, or misuse of signatures or seals, or for any other unlawful purpose;
- infringe copyrights, personal information or other rights of others;
- interfere with the normal operation of the Service, bypass its security measures, or send excessive automated requests;
- use the open-source software included in the Service in violation of its licence terms.
Article 5 (Your responsibilities)
- You are responsible for the content of the documents you edit and for how you use them.
- When you finish, download and keep the resulting file yourself. Your edits disappear when you close or reload the tab.
- After using the redaction feature, always reopen the downloaded file and confirm that the text was removed. In some cases — for example text that is part of an image, or overlapping objects — the Service may not be able to remove content; in that case it shows a warning.
Article 6 (Changes and suspension)
The operator may add, change or discontinue all or part of the Service, and will announce important changes in the Service or on this page. Because the Service is free, no compensation is provided.
Article 7 (Disclaimer)
- The Service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that every PDF will produce a result identical to the original.
- Font substitution, width adjustment and similar techniques may make the result look different from the original.
- To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for errors or interruptions of the Service, for data loss caused by your device or browser, or for damage arising from your use of edited documents. This does not apply to damage caused by the operator's intent or gross negligence.
Article 8 (Advertising)
The Service may show ads on information pages. Information processed in connection with ads is governed by the Privacy Policy. Advertisers are responsible for the products and services shown in their ads.
Article 9 (Intellectual property and open source)
Rights in the Service's name, mascot and visual design belong to the operator. Rights in the documents you edit belong to you (or the original rights holder); the Service claims no rights in them. Open-source software and fonts included in the Service are governed by their own licences — see the third-party notices.
Article 10 (Governing law and jurisdiction)
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes relating to the Service will be resolved by the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act of Korea.
Article 11 (Changes to these terms)
If these terms change, we will announce it on this page at least 7 days before the effective date, and at least 30 days before for changes that are unfavorable to users.
